Mo's visit July 2016

We have had many friends visit us in Perth throughout the years, but one particular occasion was really memorable. To celebrate my mother's 100th birthday, my brother, I, and several friends from Hong Kong had made travel arrangements to Perth. Regretfully, Mum lived to be 99 years old plus 10 months. As a result, everyone carried on with the trip,  an extra event was held in Mandurah to scatter Mum and Dad's ashes. A video here to capture our times together.

Whoever that comes to our home, we always ove to show them how much face-lift we did for the house and you are also asked to view this if you have not seen it before.

Mum's passing April 2016

My Mum died at the age of 99 and 10 months, jsut two months short of hundred. With her age, when she got to 90, every year was a blessing. But when it happened, it was sudden and kind of shock as a human could turn from mortal to immortal in a very short time period.

Singapore Trip 2016

Marina and I went to Singapore for a week and some photos are now put together

https://youtu.be/0mz8WEkiMGE

We stayed at one of her classmate's grandmother home - Molly. Molly in her young days sold frozen chicken wings along the street and now owns a huge retailer and wholesaling : http://mollys.com.sg/en/content/4-our-story ( the little girl next to the lion head is Marina's school friend Kealea (mix of American and Singapore)https://www.facebook.com/MollysNonyaCakeAndConfectionary

A bit of my notes:

We has a real good flight to Perth.i was scared that if there was another hiccup; it would have scared marina from taking planes and travelling down the track. I guess we both learn to eat simple and also have sufficient rear before taking off. We still had a very stressful afternoon for getting things done at the last minute and especially replacement of bathers was required. In the future,  allow one more day before departure is essential . Glad that I cancelled Mum's 4pm dentist appointment otherwise it was far too hard to manage.
The breathing exercise did help and I should have done more.

Arriving in Singapore at 11pm. the arrangement for getting on taxi at the airport is extremely well organised. The taxi fare is cheap and the apartment Molly has was superb, I got to stay at the right time as it was just being rennovated.  Marina is so well organised with her belonging during the unpacking stage; we did bit have pj in our packing list so need to add.
Everything is new , clean and modern and apparently Molly let us have a bigger room and bed ; their shop open almost the whole night with vans coming and going to do delivery and getting stuff.
It was the first morning when marina slept in until almost 1pm. I guess if she had not got enough sleep
She will not have energy to enjoy doing things.
I walked down to the shop and was totally amazed by the range if products the shop sell, some homemade and some they do retail .
Helen and Molly were not well
After their Korea trip. Kraken seems a bit reserved and u guess the story will
Be different when marina is up . It is a dilemma with travelling, staying with someone is more relaxing and can understand how local people live bit may not be able to do things freely as u wish; but pure visitors may tire u out too much by doing more than your body  can take.
I had a stroll
Around the block which had appeared liked TAi Wai bit eating place open early with mixture of all types of food, price definitely is so cheap. Just getting around here will give us a few things to buy and bring back home.

Broome and Kununurra Trip July 2013

A very enjoyable trip with Stephanie and Marina in Broome. Then Marina and I joined Irene and Doug in Kununura. Never realised how big Western Australia is until we travelled. We experienced the vast difference in temperature. We learnt that it was raining and cold in Perth but we could swim a few times and the most enjoyable one was at Lake Argyle

Usefulness of Cloud

Email package is useful as you can view emails from anywhere so that you can keep track of the incoming and outgoing mail no matter where you are.

Dropbox improves by allowing you to upload Microsoft files so that the documents can also be accessed anywhere.

The mobile phone and tablet allows the synchronisation of music, photos and documents in one place. the fear is if you lose the gadget, I really don't know what will happen.

Blog is old with the hierarchy set up but it is still an useful tool to be able to put together in my case most of the travelling diary. with time progress, one gets older and lost track of things happening around, so blog is able to gather most of the pictures and travelling fun together. Wikispaces tend to be mean and ask for money so I had to copy things from there to blog.

Esperance Trip 2013

In 2013, Marina and I drove km from Perth to Esperance to visit Marina's granddad and his lady friend's family.
I encouraged Marina to write diary on a regualr basis during the trip as to capture her memeory and fun in the journey. Marina had been very good as it was hard for a young kid to sit down and focused on noting down what she had done . Kid tends to look forward of what they want to do next but not going back to think what they had done. I hope one day Marina would realise if she did not complete the diary in time, she would forget some of the details she noted down and also the joy and fun that she had experienced.
Our first stop of our trip is Williams, we had some afternoon tea my mum had coffee I had ice- cream and
we shared a scone. the road trip between Arthur river and Wagin I watched a
movie. On the trip between Wagin I had a Lollie pop.

Then we got to Lake grace and called the person who showed us our inn. The person who showed us the room is much nicer than the one who showed us our place in Margaret River in our last trip with auntie Mable. The place was great. the next morning it was hot.
so we got a sport drink to keep our
hydration up. Then we left to Lake king for a brake it was so hot, we had lunch
there under a tree in the car.

Our next stop was to Ravensthorpe aiming to get
a nice cake, but when we got there the place was not there, so we settled for a
road shop. We had a hot dog each (not nice, very salty) and I had an ice cream
and my mom wanted a coffee but it was too hot. On the way to Esperance I
had another Lollie. Then we saw granddad and Jo, we had my favourite lasagne :)
for dinner.

The second day at Esperance, it was close to 40 degrees. It was a really hot day, so down at the beach was the best thing to do. We went to the beach to catch waves with my friend Briannah. we took the dogs out on the surf board, into deeper water. Bonnie was on 1 surf board and Baily was on another then a big wave came and knocked the dogs off the boards. first of all we got baily on the board and then we realised bonnie fell off the board too, and basically swimming for her life , she was liked crying for help. When bailey fell off the board, he could straight away putting both his front paws to hold on the board because he was so much bigger than Bonnie. and when we went back to Jo’s place, she had a roast and that further heated up the whole house.

that night i had a sleep over at Briannah house it was great. the first thing in the morning that we got is a big sloppy kiss from Bailey and running after him was bonny wanting a pat. It was the best because it was my first sleep over.

On friday 18th January, Briannah and I went to the swimming pool to have a play. first we play a little while and then we played with the floating toys, after we did snorkelling and then we went into the warm pool to play chasey. Then we had some snacks and chips for lunch. In the afternoon, you went back to her house to have a play on the ipod.

She and her family came back to Jo’s place as mum was cooking chinese dinner for 7 of us.

On Saturday we went fishing on the beach with Briannah and her dad and her two dogs. The first thing that happened was Briannah ‘s dad stopped to say hello to some people in a car coming back from the beach. They said it was horrible because it was all stormy and the sand was hard to drive on. then some stupid people just drove straight through soft sand which acted liked quick sand and the car got bogged. we thought that was stupid because there was a lot of dark muddy sand on one side and then a clean path of white sand on the other side and we did not know why they chose the muddy sand. Uncle Gary ended up to pull them out . then we found a good spot and did some beach fishing. Me and Briannah did not do any fishing so we sat in the car and ate chips that gave us the feeling that we were camping. Uncle Gary tried to help mum to cast the fishing line out and the wind was very strong and mum did not bring along a jacket so she was rather cold and very soon she lost interest in this beach fishing. Finally Uncle Gary got a tiny small herring.    On 19th mum got up early and went fishing with Grand dad. I got up just
the time they came back. Mum suggested to take me down to the jetty to see
Sammy. And when we got there we saw three seals. we took some photos of them.
then we saw a man pulling fish in one minute per fish. so we went back home
immediately to grab our fishing gear and did some more fishing in the jetty ,
we caught nothing and had only three bits among us. we then came back home and
went to Uncle Gary’s home for roast beef dinner. Mum and I made two bowls
of trifle to bring along as desserts. Before lunch we played blokus, none of
them had played before.

Briannah and I played Wii after lunch. In the late
afternoon we went to Bandy Creek and did some more fishing. And we saw another
seal and I took lots of photos. And then we tried to fly the kite but it fell
into the water and was too heavy to fly. Afterwards when we did fishing,
seagulls tried to steal our bait so I chased the seagulls until I felt like I had my revenge. Then I found a star fish and chucked it back into the water.

On Sunday 20th, I went swimming at Twilight Beach with my friend Briannah and her mum. Briannah let me borrow the body board so together we could go boggie boarding. Then we did some snorkelling and chased the fish. Then we used our snorkelling gear and picked up sea weed and put them into a big pile on a rock. After that we went into a gap between rocks and we found a little star fish with 8 legs clinging onto the rock, every time when a wave came the water would be pushed in the star fish would fall of the rock, so we put it in a spot were the water was not too strong. then Briannah and her mum decided to go earlier,

so mum and I stayed and walked along the beach and made footprints and drew pictures. Just as we were taking down the tent, granddad and Jo appeared so we put the tent back up and went for another swim and it was a lot nicer since the water was warmer. I was really happy being able to have a swim with granddad and Jo.

For afternoon tea, we went to Macas, me and Jo had double strawberries sundaes, mum had a coffee.
Back home mum cooked another chinese meal for them to tucker in. I enjoyed that I love chinese food !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a lovely time with granddad and Jo

In the morning I went to Wave Rock. it was bigger than i imagined in the pictures it does not look steep but it actually is very steep and hard to stand on, every time i went to climb up on
to the wave i slide back down like i was on a slide.afterwards we climbed to the top of wave rock and had a look.next we followed a path on top of wave rock.we saw some flat pieces of rock break, so it looked like a giant slice of cake i learnt that it is called the weathering process.then we went on a walk to hippos yawn, we climbed into its mouth and went out 1 ear and climbed around.

after we went to an animal park, it was much better than the 1 in Esperance because this 1 has more animals.i especially like the golden possums, the white kangaroo and the peacock.i also got 1 of the feathers from the peacock because it was outside the cage. At the animal park there was a sign that said if this sign is white it is snowing,if this sign is gone there is a tornado, if this sign is is wet it is raining, if this sign is wobbly it is windy.

We had some lunch at Wave Rock and then headed back to Perth. Mum drove through the wheat belt while I was fast asleep. We stopped at Quairading, Narembeen and arrived at York for a break.

I am guessing in York, they don’t have any other name for shops because everywhere you look you would see a business starting with Your, such as York IGA, . Then mum let me play at the park for a while
